Doesn't matter, Kamui can only teleport what's in front of it, not behind. All Gaara has to do is keep enough sand in front of him and he won't be affected by it.

Why would kamui not work on him? Kakashi sucks up gaara with kamui and wins but if he misses with both he most likely loses
