Asuma and Shikamaru, shikamaru could easily divise a plan on the well known 'Son of the white fang' also Asuma is extremely dangerous and shouldn't be looked down on, as his taijutsu is strengthened by the extra reach of his wind infused weapon. Will of fire have this.

This is an interesting match up.
Id go with kakashi though because he would know to kill shikamaru first, because he would be the pain in the ass. After skikamaru is dead, kakashi should have mid difficulty defeating asuma

kakashi and shikamaru are both very intelligent. i would say shikamaru will outsmart kakashi if he had preperation time. without preperation time i think kakashi can manage a win with mid difficulty. as much as i like asuma as a character, hes no good in this fight.

quoting myself, i didnt mean to say it as asuma is useless, but with the brains of the other two, the battle will be in different aspects. they will be on a different page of whats going on. in my opinion..

Kakashi is suppose to have the brains of Shikamaru (stated by 2 sources), so I'd probably choose him in the end. Plus he has a lot of unknown jutsu that Shikamaru probably won't account for.

I think Kakashi would have a hard time. The fact is Asuma isn't a push over and Shikamaru is pretty dam smart.

-Kakashi most likely can catch Shikamaru of guard and Kill him but that won't happen right away b/c Shikamaru is very strategic and thinks like 3 moves ahead. So saying that Kakashi will have to move quick on him.

-Kakashi vs Asuma: Kakashi wins but not easily. Remember Asuma was one of the 12 gaurdins so he knows his stuff and was able to cut Hidan's head off with easy.

All in all if Kakashi can split the two up and get rid of Shikamaru first quickly then he wins.
