This has been argued and discussed for a while now. The weather conditions are only necessary to use Kirin with natural lightning on a large scale but it's entirely possible he was going to use a similar small-scale technique.

I feel that I should point out that this Kakashi = Kakashi at the same point of the story as pre-Orochimaru absorption Sasuke. He is fully recovered and not resting in bed. He's not very comfortable using Kamui, but he can still use it.

Also, yes, Sasuke does have Kirin. His absorption of Orochimaru would not have been the thing that unlocked Kirin. He knew it before he absorbed Orochimaru, no doubt. Keep in mind I meant this to be the Sasuke that we see right before he confronts Orochimaru, so I think he is slightly better developed than he was during the Team 7 reunion.

It's not my theory. I'm just saying it's been discussed before. And that he likely had it before absorbing oro unless you somehow think he developed his ace card during the fight with itachi?

The manga does not tell us whether or not he knew it before Orochimaru absorption, but common sense says he did. Kirin is not an easy jutsu. It was Sasuke's most difficult to master, I'm sure. He did not learn that in the short span of time from Oro's defeat to his fight with Itachi.

Sasuke wouldn't have had time to sit down every day and learn how to tame lightning. Once he absorbed Orochimaru his focus was to gather Hebi members and then find Itachi. That's it. He was done learning new jutsus for a while.

Bro :sdo: I'm not going to except that he knew Kirin before his absorption of orochimaru. Be it common sense, a possibility, or something that can be inferred, as long as it is not directly stated in the manga prior to his fight with Itachi that he can use Kirin, then he wasn't able to use it before absorbing Orochimaru. Kirin (before he absorbed Orochimaru) was apart of his theoretical arsenal, Kirin (during his fight with Itachi) was apart of his canon arsenal, which is why Naruto Wikia has the conditions for Kirin set specifically for only during cloudy weather, not just any weather. Because Kirin (in just any weather) Isn't a canon feat of Sasuke. Sasuke using Kirin during his confrontation with Yamato isn't canon :sdo2:

Yea, there's really no evidence or implications that he couldn't have done it beforehand. While there are hints and implications that he could have.

Pretty clear which is the more logical conclusion.
