Since the theory of Tobi's Sharingan being Obito's other eye is growing quite popular, let me throw this one at ya guys... it should throw ya for a loop... maybe...

And here's a thought... what if Tobi's MS is eternal and because its Obito's (It's likely crushed, but anything is possible) other eye, Kakashi's eye is also eternal... has Kakashi ever complained about going blind? He's used his technique A LOT."
Even if Tobi has Obito's other eye, it doesn't mean he's capable of the same technique Kakashi is... usually each Mangekyo eye (left and right) have different abilities... However, if they both share the same techniques, Tobi's mastery is SIGNIFICANTLY higher, obviously. ...but if that's true, why hasn't Tobi bothered to use the technique Kakashi uses? The entire reason I'm bringing this up is the controversy regarding the Gedo Mazo statue, regarding Kamui. Although honestly, it's more likely Tobi reverse summoned it... he did it after he got the 9-tails chakra. Then again... didn't Tobi teleport to a different location before he did that?

Anyhow, I think we now know how Tobi was able to convince and so easily control Akatsuki (This is the first time we've seen Tobi fight seriously. Up till this point he has underestimated every opponent), even if people didn't buy into his possible lie about being Madara Uchiha... There isn't a single Akatsuki member that could have taken 9-Tails Naruto, Guy, and Kakashi (Bee is kind of sitting back). Guy could have debateably taken the Six-Paths of Pain by himself, IMO. Itachi... maybe because of his Susanoo and amazing genjutsu, but could he have made it seem so easy like Tobi has? Itachi was weakening from sickness, so it could have only been possible at his absolute prime... but then again, Tobi despite all his power kept his promises to Itachi till his death.
There's also evidence, via Konan stating that she has been watching his techniques for some time, meaning that Tobi at one time did fight a lot or at least showed his power against Pain/Nagato.
