Kakashi would most likely be captain since he would have seniority over Itachi. If Shisui joined ANBU before Kakashi then he would probably be captain.

Though neither Itachi or Shisui would stay under Kakashi for long though before they make captain themselves.

When considering who would be the captain, power is almost irrelevant.

If Naruto and Kakashi formed a 2 man cell, would Naruto be the captain, because he could annihilate Kakashi with a TBB? Of course not.

It depends on the relationship between the squad members. Itachi was always portrayed as having a certain respect for Kakashi in the manga, so he would definitely let Kakashi take the role of captain. The same would, probably, go for Shisui.

Shisui was never in Anbu to start with. He was just in the Police Force. He was 18 or older. Lol

Kakashi would be the captain, since he's more experienced.

Itachi could be the little prodigy of the group and was the best at genjutsu. (He's the best genjutsu user. Shisui just got hype for being the only MS user when he was alive, but even so he could only use each Koto tech once a decade. That's pathetic. Itachi was better than him even at time but didn't receive the praise since he completed missions primarily for Anbu- so in the shadows. Shisui was completing missions and feats in front of people so they knew what he was capable of unlike Itachi. Regardless of this, in Sasuke's part one flashbacks Itachi was still stated to be the most elite of the clan despite being younger and only 13, while Shisui was still alive. Lol )

I'd rather see Yamato as Kakashi's and Itachi's support. He'd be more helpful. Shisui was good for his day, but that generation of Uchiha was being surpassed by a 13 yr old Itachi. So, it doesn't say much for Shisui's regard. :/

That would be pretty cool although we don't know much Shisui's abilities other than his shunshin. I agree with Chie, yamato would make a good substitute for Shisui since he already has worked with Kakashi and his large scale elemental jutsu could be quite useful. Itachi is just Itachi, nuff said

His planning and co-ordination led to Kaguya being sealed but I think its more impressive that he almost killed the strongest path of pain with Choza and Choji XD

Kakashi would definitely be captain. Itachi doesn't even fit the leader position. His personality just doesn't match.
Shisui has close to no information on him, so he'd most likely be a support.
I think Yamato would be better than Shisui, since two Uchihas that specialize in Genjutsu are repetitive.
