Sasuke did have two tomoe sharingan against Naruto at the valley of the end and wasn't able to see Kurama nor come to the realization that Naruto is a Jin. He didn't realize it until three years later so yeah going crazy and burning Orochimaru doesn't mean Sasuke has any type of analytical skill. His analytically skill is how you put it "sub par." lol Compared to Kakashi's of course.

Part 1 Sasuke was very analytical, not as much as Kakashi but very much more than current sasuke, who let's see walked plan-less up to Bee, got 1 paneled by Madara, killed his own brother who he was too dumb to see was a good guy, and jumped right into getting owned 1 by 1 against each of the Kage's with little or no known prior knowledge about any of their powers and got bailed out EVERY SINGLE TIME. Part 2 sasuke is just a dumb ass to be honest. In each of those fights he had no plan other than to hit and swing then fall back on his brother's (E)MS, and didn't think at all about his upcoming opponent(s). I miss part 1 Sasuke.
