Kakashi must have recurring flashbacks to rin's death.

Haku(Goddamn it Kakashi, he LOOKS like one), Zabuza(those bonds are reaching Naruto & Sasuke Lvs) and Obito are the ones I can name at the top of my head.

Does one think that he would remember Rin stepping into his attack, especially with Haku.....

He is still traumatised after rin's death. Kishimoto wants to make us see that the plot is strenghtening: now we know why kakashi was everytime at the memorial, what was with the whole "those who don't save their friends are worse than trash" thing, and the reason behind rin's death. I think he wants us to say something like: "Oh, now i realise why this thing happened and why this character did this". That's why kakashi has some sort of flashbacks, that we make the connections between rin and the others he stabbed. But that's just my opinion, though.
