1. Let's also ignore the facts that:
-Zabuza could have killed Sasuke if he felt like it anytime he wanted
-Kakashi without Sharingan took out both Naruto and Sasuke no difficulty in one move
-Sasuke's ass was handed to him by Rock Lee
That's what we get if we still live in the world of Part 1.

2. I seriously lol'd at "with just genjutsu". So why does it matter if it's genjutsu or not? Lol Fact of the matter is, that's one of the most powerful techniques in his arsenal. Face it, Itachi was forced to use a health-deteriorating and blinding technique to get past part 1 Kakashi. That's a manga fact.
