I always knew he was a monster. He mainly had just bad luck during the series but he finally shows what he is capable of.

He defeated the most powerful and immortal generation of mist swordsmen and without any rest rushed to fend off SEVERAL IMMORTAL JINCHUURIKIS in second form, cracked Tobi's defense, used 3 kamuis and stated he has enough chakra for several more.
Not to mention many other jutsu performed during this period, including several raikiri and kage bushin.

Finally he got some recognition in the community.
