As a child, he endured so many things that allowed him to understand what the true meaning of human suffering is. Kakashi loved his father, the feared White Fang, when he was little. However that all changed when his father committed suicide after being slandered by his comrades who he had save. This left Kakashi in a daunting position where he never spoke about his father again. That must have been hard for him. Not admiring the person who he had once respected the most. The person who was supposed to fill his heart with love as it was a father’s duty to do so. Going through childhood without a father, and above all not respecting him anymore, must have been tough for Kakashi. He even changed his perspectives of the ninja world just because of this incident – that the ninja rules must be obeyed at all times. This just highlights the degree of the difficult situation he was in.
And just when everything seems to be fine again, Kakashi witnessed Obito’s ‘death’ who was the person that changed his views of the ninja world and his father. The person that made him loved his father again and the person who he was starting to become friends with after a rocky relationship between the two. Kakashi blamed himself for his death, saying it would have never happen if he listened to Obito earlier. Not to mention, he also blamed himself for Rin’s death. He thought he killed Rin for all those years. The guilt that he carried over his childhood must have left a deep hole through his heart during those years.
However, he always seems to remain calm and cool despite having a difficult childhood. And this is one of the reasons why he is one of my favourite characters. He is intelligent, strong and cool as always. I say he deserves more respect! I am not saying that there are other characters out there who have suffered more than Kakashi. I just think he is one of the few characters where fans don’t acknowledge that much for all he has been through and for all he has done (being an awesome sensei).
