kakashi Hatake : jōnin-level , Sharingan ( Mangekyō Sharingan ) , Chidori , summon , water-based techniques , earth techniques , Rasengan , Multiple Shadow Clone Technique , able to utilise and open Gates

Might Guy : jōnin-level , specialist of taijutsu , technique called Daytime Tiger , ninjutsu , genjutsu , summon , counter against Sharingan-users , able to utilise and open the Eight Gates

intent : to kill

i didn't say kakashi beat gai,for me they are equals but kakashi got a little more advantage with kamui plus they put kakashi on a division in the war not gai and gai can use 7 and 8 only one time
