This has been bothering me for some time now and I would like your opinions
WHY didn't Kakashi chidori the boulder into millions of fu*king pieces and save obito?

Because he becomes the main villain in the ninja war...

chidori tears up walls, but i've never seen it smash boulders. even if it could wouldn't he run the risk of shocking his mortally wounded friend to death?

Obito said he was already numb on his right side. If you get hit with a boulder, and can't feel any pain, you're usually done at that point. Obviously Zetsu had something to do with him surviving

The better question IMO is why didn't Minato recover Obito's body?

Wow, great question! I think its because he didn't think of it, in the middle of the situation, but i totally agree with you, he is capable of it.

Okay; Let's assume Kakashi did Chidori the boulder that was pinning Obito to the ground. What would have happened then? The OTHER boulders on top of that one would have collapsed and killed Obito, most likely. Which, all things considered, would have been a good thing.

Konoha shinobi really need to learn the art of mercy killing.

After all; You never known when that ninja you left half-dead under a couple tons of rubble might survive and turn into a raging psychopath bent on resurrecting the damn apocalypse in physical form and trapping you in an unending genjutsu cast off the surface of the moon using it's eye.
