kakashi could have easily destroyed the boulder that was on top of obito with chidori all he did was try to push it off of him...what do you think you have a better chance doing? pushing a giant boulder? or destroying it with a lightening based jutsu that is made for piercing....

kakashi could've saved obito...guess it was just for plot reasons

what do you mean "not on chidori" ? chidori would've been the best jutsu kakashi knew for that. lightening beats earth plus it was kakashis strongest technique it would've blown through the boulder for sure

It could be that he didn't had enough chakra to use chidori. He was exhausted because he was in world ward after all.

Also what you need to realize... Kakashi could have used chidori however would have only destroy a portion of that boulder and would have killed his partner.... Boulder gets hit and it vibrates and moves and crushes obito (what ever is left from him) also that rock was stopping other rocks from falling....... Which could have set another rock avalanch that would kill all the other characters.

kakashi proceeded to kill the rock ninja who did that to obito, then he prepared for combat against a horde of rock ninja while have a full chidori in his hand. what he did with that chidori is unknown but if he could sustain that chidori for as long as he did he could've saved him.

I doubt Kid kakashi's raikiri at the time given the situation could have destroyed the boulder, it looked to be reaaally big, at best it probabaly would have put a dent in it. Not shatte it completely.

The bolder was very large but Kakashi could have tried something more then just push the damn thing lol

You assume Kakashi new Chidori back then,and the probability is He did not,that was a move created much later in Kakashi life.

Sure Shidori could break through rocks and make it explode, but that explotion would have probably killed obito either.

If Kakashi had removed the boulder from Obitio wouldn't Obitio be half a body and pretty much bleed out in an instant and die? Not to mention I don't think the leaf village could have saved him in his state.
