I think it could work on it, if it was made of bones and flesh but it is made of chakra and not usual one, it is made of nature chakra, so I think even if Kamui could land on Juubi' neck, it could cut it's head from rest of body for few seconds to be reattached with rest of body in few next seconds. Let's visualize yourself as Orochimaru reattached his body cut in half by Naruto kyuubi four tails in past.

The best Kakashi could do Juubi is disable it temporary, make it unable to move or attack so it could be sealed. Although Kakashi couldn't kill it pernamently, it would be still great achievement, there is only quite few able to do something like that to Juubi so Kakashi is still epic and pro, but not godly.

While I agree with you with Kakashi killing temporary Current form of Juubi, it would be very hard for Kakashi, as Juubi would be on rampage and attack with it's body and bijuu dama, so Kakashi would have to been on guard whole time.

Someone mention Sage of six paths, so I could only add: Sage of six paths>Obito and ,Fully mastered Ying Yang release > Kamui

1. Anyone from Naruto verse able to defeat Sage of six paths(even before becoming Juubi jinchurki).
2. Anyone from Naruto verse able to defeat Juubi by overpowering it with raw power, or other hax abilities other than sealing.

I could add few things:

s06p is the strongest he can of course counter kamui kishi will make him do that it the father of ninja world and surly has kamui too as it is blood line from him(uchiha)
but i wanted to show how strong is kakashi as i saw lots consider him high jonin , low kage level or mid kage leve
i think the one who can beat current jiubi is so high kage level

As Secondly, I'm surprised you think Kakashi would even last a millisecond in front of the Juubi when clearly even with the Alliance, they aren't doing much to the Juubi and Kakashi is fighting alongside them. Nevermind what I said previously, a tiny kamui to the neckline isn't doing anything to the Juubi. The Juubi will just reattach where the neckline disappeared using chakra to regenerate itself.

i think the one who was able to kill the gedo which has 7 biju's chakra with this easiness ,must be so high kage level
that is true that kakashi would have killed the gedo if obito hadn't protected the gedo
kakashi has fastest and longest attack which doesn't need seals ,doesn't take time but instant,doesn't travel but appear with the eye and even jiubi can't counter it

i don't think about that jiubi will just reattach where the neckline disappeared using chakra to regenerate itself.
some of jiubi's tails was cut but he didn't do what you talk about
but i agree about that jiubi is just unlimited chakra and can't be killed but i think split his neck from his body will at least make him fall down
(he won't be able to move again in current time )
