It shouldnt be a kakashi arc any f***in ways. Why dafuq are they showing kakashis memories? We're in a damn war arc where shit bouta get real. Yet they stop and say " lets sabotage these f***ers( naruto fans) and just make a kakashi arc in the middle of the war arc." Im pissed.
Well I guess it will go on for a while. I would say 1 month minimum. I don't mind seeing Kakashi's ANBU days, so I am actually looking forward to this arc.
Right now the Anime is approximately 60 odd chapters behind the manga. Usually the current pacing of episodes is 3 chapters per episode. So if they where to go full canon, it would take them 20 episodes to get them where the manga is at the moment.
20 episodes equate to 5 months of airing and generally the anime doesn't take a lot of breaks.
However in this period, the manga would have advanced by approximately 20 more chapters (not counting in any breaks). Meaning that the anime would have caught up to the manga significantly. 20 chapters equates to approximately 6 episodes (i.e. 1 and a half months of airing)
Therefore at that rate, the anime wouldn't be able to go the whole year with canon material. Therefore they need a filler arc to account for the time that canon material won't be able to fill.
Or they can do what One Piece does, and slow the pace down to 1 chapter per episode (utterly ridiculous). You will be staring at rocks for five minutes and they drag out conversations. Plus Naruto chapters do not contain as much content as One Piece chapters so the 1 chapter per episode policy would be worse than one piece and it will destroy the anime.
People cry for canon material but they have to understand the reasons why filler is being made before venting.
