Kakashi and the fireball mystery!!

Me and my friend were talking today and he said " How can kakashi use Fire jutsu? it would burn his mask?"
It seemed true for a while but then i came up with a theory....

Kakashi doesnt burn his mask because the fire is made outside the mask, he does the hand seals and breaths in, when he breaths out the air turns into fire as the air approaches the hand seal, so the fire doesnt come from his mouth! THE AIR TURNS INTO THE FIRE!

Whaddaya think?

He only has the fire element in the anime, it was never shown he had it in the manga so yeah.
