Ever since Obito was revealed to be Tobi he always talk about how kakashi is trash for letting Rin die and how he loved Rin so much. My question is did Obito only care about Rin as a kid?

In the above panel Obito says that he regrets he is dying just after he and Kakashi are becoming good friends and he sorry he is leaving EVERYONE. So what was it that made Obito only care about Rin?

Actually Obito says the ninjas/shinobis that survive are trash or something that like that.
He also is apart of Madara's Eye of the Moon plan because of Rin, he even overcame the Ten-Tails because of Rin. Hope that answers your question

the promise kakashi made to him to always protect rin. and since not only he let her get kidnapped, she died by jumping infront his raikiri... obitos words were "ILL NEVER LET MY FRIENDS DIE ", Kakashi taught those words to Naruto, n since obito "lived n died" by acting to protect them, you could in a way understand why he would be upset that he didnt do the same for Rin and die trying to protect her.

havent you read the chapter without any words about obitos past as a kid going through the academy, chunnin exams, ect.? he was fully involved in the hope that one dayshe would see him for a lover and not a little brother, so as he was "dying" for saving kakashi's life, he asked in return was to protect rin, thats why he got the sharingan... so he really could keep the promise n take care of her since he wouldnt be able to since he gave his life to save kakashi instead. but he did it for rin. so that he would be around to protect her n love her since obito knew she never would love him like that.

I was watching Obito AMV's on youtube and stumbled upon this short conversation:

A: Obito is the hero of the prophecy the one with the rinnegan will once again bring peace to this world. The prophecy said person with rinnegan will be good or bad. But either way will bring peace. Obito will die with the rinnegan, but the world will have a common enemy and join together to fight him. He will bring peace and be once against with rin in the after life.

B: Obito is the best character and my favourtie . I just love everything about him . But , don't get it wrong . Obito is not doing this for Rin . Rin was the trigger . He is doing this for the system . So , please , don't get the wrong idea .

C: Of course. I've said this again and again. Obito suffered at the hands of a system which isn't held accountable for its actions. A system which uses and manipulates people, pushes children into war and inspires people to sacrifice themselves.
Naruto wants to lead the system, Sasuke wants to change the system and Obito wants to erase any need for a system.

So much truth especially in the last one. If you think about it Naruto would be as much of an fail as a Hokage as everyone else before him. I truly wish that Obito will win this war.

that's my point, he and Kakashi became good friends and now he just refers to him as trash because he couldn't save Rin. Obito is going against what he said to kakashi: " those who don't obey the rules are scum but those who abandon their friends are worse then scum".

Well I think the point is that they aren't friends anymore (since the moment he failed to save Rin to be precise), so Obito is still going by his rule, its just that he has no friend left in this world.
