Kakashi and blindness?

People keep saying Kakashi is blind. Does he not have his original eye or did I skip a chapter? And what is your opinion on what is going to happen to Kakashi so this thread is not totally useless.

Kakashi was my favorite before Kamui so he still is. Obito still has a bunch of sharingans so Kakashi could always put one of those in.
