Just read this on the wiki, I think it's the databook explanation of the jutsu:

Hiding like a mole technique: This technique changes earth into fine sand by channelling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. This effect goes around the body (not just the hands), making it just large enough for a person to move through. The user can pinpoint where they are, despite being underground, by sensing the magnetic forces. They can also sense what is happening on the surface and use that information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy.

Depending on the location of the fight anyone who can use hiding like a mole can counter the hidden mist jutsu. People should keep this in mind during Kakashi vs Mei or Zabuza fights. Although Zabuza can still hear him idk about Mei tho.

The first encounter wasn't thick enough fog present. Kakashi had no problem fighting him with the kids and they even won. So it was no need. Plus the fact if he would have done that then the kids and the man would have been instantly killed!

Or he can just use it the same way he used it against Itachi, with a clone. And he can protect everyone. But my main point wasnt even about that fight i was just saying this for future vs battles against mei or zabuza.

Yes it's true. But i guess Zabuza could've countered making water clones, so Kakashi from underground gets confused because he feels a lot of zabuzas.

How would one pick between 10 different magnetic forces when it's clear that magnetic sensing by pure logic is not as acurrate as eyesight and even by eyesight people has lost track of the original between clones. (Itachi fooled Sasuke, Naruto fooled Kakuzu, Zabuza fooled Kakashi IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES THEY SWITCHED WITH A CLONE, let alone via magnetic sensing)

Okay but in a fight when it would only be one person- if Kakashi was underground and Zabuza noticed and was like shieeeet mang and made a few clones

This literally makes no sense. Because it works on eyesight it works on sensing???
Not only are they not the same thing, sensing is an extremely more reliable way to track someone or something..
It works against eyesight because you can't tell the original apart from the clones! You can't ignore the clones and focus on the original like you can with sensing

Yes. The clones obviously have the same magnetic attraction as the real body. So as the same as with eyesight, you can't tell the difference between the clones and the real one.

Why clone feints trick eyesight; The clones jam in your vision and confuse the attacker because the clones look the same as the real

Why clone feints trick magnetic sensing: It's not lile sensing (Nagato's or Minato's). This one is a low class sensing that allows the user underground sense a magnetic force up their heads. The user can't tell the difference between the clones because they obviously have the same magnetci force in their bodies. And you saying the user can ignore the clone's force and concentrate only on the real one, is dumb, since Zabuza would only need to switch with a clone or start moving everywhere with his clones and the magnetic force is obviously jammed.
