Why do some people think it can go either way? Kaido is the WSC, so he is above Aokiji and everyone else alive.

Learn about Hyperbole. Krillin is the strongest human in the world in DBZ, according to Goku. That leaves plenty of loopholes for others to come in more powerful than him, such as being a Saiyan, or somehow not a "creature". We know nothing about Kaido's powers or abilities, so i'm giving it to Kuzan just because he's awesome.
There is nothing to suggest Kaido being the strongest is a hyperbole. The fact that he fell from the ****ing Sky and survived like it was nothing heavily disproves your statement.

No, it casts doubt onto it. Nothing proves that he is absolutely the strongest, just that he is very stong.
Then again, i'm not about to get an unbiasesd opinion from someone with a Kaido avatar and Sig.

Yes he can. WB low diffed Kuzan in their scrimmages. The manga made it a point to prove that WB wasn't anywhere near as strong as he used to be. Kaido would stomp Kuzan like i said.
Kuzan got low-diffed? Kuzan barley got touched at all in their skirmish just according to you he got low-diffed LMAO. On top of the fact WB was pushed to high-dif by Akainu who's practically equal to Kuzna on top of that, while Old WB is still stronger than Kaido. Old WB couldn't stomp Akainu and dh can't stomp Kuzan, the gap between OP top tiers aren't large at all.

ppl are overrating the admirals, kaidou is hyped above all. A nearly dead WB who got the upper hand on akainu. there is no way this fight is extreme diff since kaidou is prime. he has insane durability not saying kuzan doesnt but kaidou is beyond that. he is definitely better than heart attack prone and heavily injured old wb. kuzan at best can take it to high diff. extreme diff is akainu vs kuzan lvl or ace vs jimbei etc. this is not an extreme diff fight.
NB in general is hyping admirals a bit too much i kno they are the best in WG but yonko>admirals in 1v1 that should be obvious when u see gravely injured WB taking on akainu. and marco can match kizaru in no way is admirals above or even pushing a yonko like kaido to extreme diff.

Hard to predict not knowing Kaido's abilities or fighting style. He is super robust but does however have a scar on the right side of his torso. The scar and toughness reminds me of the third Raikage. It also means Kaido can be hurt and maybe even killed imo. Knowing what made the scar could be the key to beating him.
About Aokiji, we know he barely lost to Akainu after 10 days, proving his strength. As an ex admiral he must have hade intel on Kaido, maybe he even knows what caused Kaido's wound that made the scar. If he knows i think he has a chance, be it a small one.

Old WB was called the strongest man on the planet and was introduced as such hope right off Kiado's ****.
I mean Akainu got the upper hand on a much fresher WB so again there's that, you can't compare Kaido to WB because WB was the strongest when he was alive Kaido was not said to be at all. It can be a extreme-dif the gap in OP top tier isn't big, Admiral aren't overhyped them and Yonko are basically the biggest folk in terms of strength in the OP verse.

People seem to forget that Old WB was still the strongest. With each new admiral Old WB fought, his injuries were worse than before and every admiral "outclassed" him.
