I just read a theory on here about the fruit being the real final villain.
That the fruit has been controlling kaguya and now madara to regain all its stolen chakra.
The hermit almost sounded like he was leaving out important details to the story of what happened between him and his mother.
I think that in the battle against the juubi to repent for their mothers sins the juubi left the brothers in a severe state.
After sealing the juubi like with what almost happened to obito. The sages brother couldn't control the juubi from taking
Over. Hagooramo also had a tough time controlling His half of the juubi. Hagooramo however was mentally strong enough to suppress the juubi.
Kaguya felt for her son's who were fighting on her behalf. Using her amazing prowess kaguya extracted the half of the
