Hello everyone this is basically how i think Kaguyas backstory is gonna be like based on what we already know of her past, and what we know about her so far.
But before we talk about her character we have to understand what was going on in her time.

During her time there were constant wars being fought over and over. Mankind had never shown any signs of stopping this endless cycle of wars and hatred towards each other. For Many eras Kingdoms would fight for territory, land expansion, etc. Anything could have been a trigger for the constant bloodshed.

Origins still unknown She may be literally from the Moon and was adopted by royalty or she was a regular human princess.
While growing up during these harsh times it may have been the cause for her to step up and do something about it. Because like we all know, Kishi's "villains" Are just those who want World Peace in some twisted way. Im guessing she heard of the legends of the God tree and the Fruit no one was allowed to touch and then one day went on a journey to retrieve it to get the power to put a stop to all the wars

After eating the fruit she underwent a drastic Change from a Princess to a Goddess
Since she was the only one to possess Chakra at the time none could ever oppose her, or disobey her so she was able to maintain Peace thru fear. Which is why she was later feared as the Rabbit Goddess. Everything was as it should be until something happened that would ruin everything for Kaguya and the Peace she maintained...

Thats right the birth of her Son or rather 2 sons. Hagoromo and Hamura. The first people born with Chakra in their bodies.
Obviously at first she may have been proud that her and her family were on top and could still rule over the people as long as they had all the Power. But Hagoromo had another idea...
He came up with Ninshuu, he wasn't proud of his mothers methods and wanted a true peace where everyone could come together of their own free will and choose to live in harmony. So he gave Chakra to the rest of Mankind in hopes that they would use this concept of Ninshuu to connect with eachother. Im sure at first Kaguya was open to that idea, and supported her sons decision.

It was around that time that Hagoromo gave the others Chakra that the God Tree finally manifested its anger and became the Juubi.
Kaguya feeling betrayed and disappointed in the foolish Humans who would abuse the Chakra, wanted to take it back. She feels she's the only one who rightfully deserves it. After all she was the one who ate the fruit. The originator of all chakra. It was this power hungry attitude that had her figure out a way to get all of her Chakra back.

On top of receiving all of her chakra back, all of the people in the world will transform into Mindless Zetsus that will never go against her, never start a war, never have any types of conflict whatsoever.

In conclusion Kaguya was dissapointed in Humanity for never getting past their foolish desire for war and conflict. She gave them a chance when Hagoromo wanted to establish Ninshuu but they couldn't even manage that and eventually turned that into a tool for war, She has given up on everyone and everything and sees that the only way for true peace is for her to have all the Chakra back and rule over the Mindless Zetsus, having them listen to everything she says no questions asked.
