Based on the information given by hagoromo, bz, and kaguya herself ive pretty much got kaguyas backstory figured out. Kaguya is a powerful alien from outerspace. The place they are currently fighting is her home planet and that planet was ruined by war. The war itself however did not end and both parties are still fighting and destroying planets. Kaguya fled the miseries of war and found earth, there she found the shinju and further increased her power. She used it to stop the wars on earth and made peace. She enjoyed this peace for a long time however oneday she realised the earth was not safe from her planets wars (as a clan from her planet came to earth [the kaguya clan who loved war and battle until it died out]. At the same time this happened she realised humans are bad and began to get radical ideals about using them to her whim due to the dellusions that she is a "god" so that she could create a powerful army to defeat her homes wars and create peace. At this point she began to be called the demon goddess for trying to make them soldiers and eventually started IT to FORCE them to be soldiers. Hagoromo and hamura did not like that and in her eyes "betrayed" her by sealing her in the moon. Now shes just picking up where she left off and needs all her chakra back to start.
