Kaguya vs Izanami

I was just wondering, If Itachi were still alive during the engagement with Kaguya, or brought back with his eyes fully recovered (because one went blind during his fight with Kabuto) Would he be able to trap Kaguya in Izanami?

The level of the victims dojutsu has nothing to do with it. Izanami is not a jutsu that uses the users eyesight like Tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami. Izanami uses all the senses of the body, which isn't something you can defend against. Izanami is extremely difficult to set up, the victim also needs to be "denying their fate". Izanagi was a jutsu that allows the user to cheat fate, while Izanami condemns a person to their fate. That is why Izanami can successfully counter Izanagi, and was used against it. The problem here is that Izanami isn't useable on someone with solid convictions and clear knowledge of their path in life. For instance, you could never catch Itachi in it no matter what.

The show was always pretty clear that as you moved up the dojutsu ladder the previous level couldn't affect you. Example is 3 tome sharingan genjutsu will not work on mangekyo sharingan, and mangekyo will not work on rinnengan etc. So kaguya, who has the highest level shouldn't be affected

Kaguya does think she is above death and she definitely is selfish. Though chakra was originally only hers, it was told and shown that she wants to collect all chakra for herself, even if that means taking everyone's free will. She obviously doesn't have much of a personality so it's hard to decipher her level of arrogance, though her final words showed her surprise and regret of her split chakra being able to defeat her. Zetsu can be used as evidence as well since he is her will.
