I believe that Kaguya is connected to the Hyuga. The reason I think that she is connected to the Hyuuga is how secretive the Hyuga are and how the main branch are treated with loyalty, to the point where nothing is more important than the survival of their heir.
Same as one would do with a royal family and the heir to their throne, note that Kaguya herself was noted to be like a goddess or a princess in many ways. So, the Hyuga likely draw their origins from these Ototsuki Warriors, of whom remained behind to stand watch over Kaguya's 'grave.'
Let's not forget that it's been mentioned a few times about how the Hyuga seal their eyes to protect the "secrets of the byakugan". It's easy to dismiss this as merely meaning to prevent them from being stolen, however it's just as easy to say there's something more to the byakugan.
Kaguya, apparently had the Byakugan - and it has been indicated that there are more of people like Kaguya out there. Before she ate the fruit, her natural eyes is her Byakugan. We know Every child of the Hyūga has those 'white eyes' since its birth. Therefore, the Byakugan has probably a different origin which imo is connected to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. I don't think it comes from the Juubi AKA the fruit.
We know that Kaguya appeared to eat the fruit and obtain power, thus corrupted her and awakened her Third Eye and people began to fear her.
I think Kaguya is aiming to launch an attack on the realm of the Gods or maybe the afterlife to gain something she wants. It may be that she sees this as her destiny, which would give another link to the Hyuga and their teaching of destinies.
The purpose of the Curse Seal is to prevent the rise of another Kaguya, and quite possibly to seal off branch members from greater abilities likely developed as a means of keeping the broader population of Hyuuga from being able to seek broader power as Kaguya did

ALSO, Kishi did say there will be Hyuuga development soon. Why does this have to simply be Neji dying? This perhaps why Neji dies so that Hinata is the only Hyuga left in the Konoha group so she can take some kind of pivotal role on.
Although there are some signs of Neji make his comeback which was foreshadowed by Hinata which could lead to my theory I've made before.
