Could she be both the death god and the original ten tails?
think about it. she ate the fruit of the god tree and gained unrivaled power. in one flash back we even she her on her balcony possibly looking at a lightning filled sky. I say possibly because maybe she is the cause of the lightning, like the 10 tails tenpenchii jutsu. maybe that was shortly before the original 10 tails went on its rampage, before she lost control of her own power and mutated into the monstrous form we know.
now as for how she MIGHT be the death god. so6p fought the 10 tails with his brother. some of us think that they both sealed parts of the ten tails into themselves. what if the way they separated it was kaguya was sealed into the brother and the ten tails obviously sealed into so6p. now just like so6p made the tailed beast out of the 10 tails chakra and sealed its body in the moon, maybe his brother did something similar with kaguya. MAYBE he sealed kaguya's chakra into a different dimension(one the 2nd hokage accidentally taped into when creating reaper death seal.) and sealed her body into the moon with the 10 tails body.
if that is the case it might explain how her consciousness is in the god tree of the 4th ninja war. it might also explain how she could be manipulating madara. she some how knew madara was her oldest grandsons reincarnation before madara died. this would help make him the perfect host for her return in future chapters. after madara died we know indra's soul possessed sasuke, leaving an opening in madara's soul. he gets brought back by kabuto with the desire to continue his work and bring back the god tree, giving kaguya more time to brain wash him and making it less likely for madara to resist possession if that is in fact what will happen.
i know its wordy and long and might not make a whole lot of sense but it is just a theory. remember no one is forcing you to agree with it so don't rip it to shreds.
