Kaguya could hurt the series...

Few people are expecting Kaguya's spirit to take over someone. Truthfully, it could series. There is only few sensible possibilities Kishi could choose from.

Madara - He has the highest chance, but the not best choice. Madara's death rate is already low with the Juubi inside of him. Naruto gotta save the Tailed Beast. You remove them and Madara won't be able to move. Then Hashirama word's to Sasuke. Hashirama want Madara to live. You add Kaguya, this dude definitely isn't dying. Madara should go out like villain. No last second change in heart. When Infinite Tsukuyomi is stopped, he should go on a killing spree.

Sasuke - Say if Madara does get defeated, and Kaguya's spirit refuse to be defeated. Sasuke is the only cat with the eyes to reactive the Infinite Tsukuyomi if Madara falls. Thus, the Naruto and Sasuke won't bring any new emotion. It'll pretty much be like the Valley of End again.

Hinata - Her being a female Hyuga, and Kaguya being a female Hyuga(Assumed). Making her one of the strongest when she's one of the weakest is a bit too much, imo. Though it would make for very emotional moment. Makes you wonder if Naruto would have the balls to hit her? Until Lord Sasuke come through, slicing heads.

Edo Tensei - They're already dead, so it doesn't matter. Nor does it make it special.

Random Pick - If Naruto get taken over by Kaguya, it would a good plot twist. Then Sakura is the only relevance. Still bring an emotional moment to Naruto and possibly Sasuke.

I'm not sure if Kaguya taking over someone is a good or bad idea for the series.

I liked what you said regarding Hinata, it made me feel as if perhaps Kaguya were to possess her and Naruto would have to kill her for the Shinobi World. Then again I'm not sure Kishi plans these things out all the time XD

Since according to mythology, a bright light on a full moon night making people like petrified is supposed to mark her return.

Killing off a spirit is okay. The problem I have with it is Madara being redeemed. Either situation could lead to the same results. For example, if Kaguya took over Sasuke. Madara might try to help Sasuke. No, no, GOD no.

I kinda don't believe it's going to happen but at the same time, Kishi has tried to redeem all the villains who have good intentions.

There is no way Kaguya could do anything whatsoever to hurt the already ruined Naruto series. Its hanging in there , but nothing could ever hurt it anymore than its already been. Anything that happens from now on is nothing compared to what could have happened. *_* There could've been many more "intriguing" situations than there are. Its still a great imaginative though.

Madara has two strikes in his defeat already. Hashirama's Jutsu and Sage's Weapons. I stated in the OP that if Madara is defeated, and Kaguya's spirit or will refuse to be defeated she can take over someone else.

Madara might want peace, but it's an atrocity. Just because he want peace doesn't make him any less of evil than other villain. The act is selfish. Kaguya ate the fruit to obtain peace. Obito was being manipulated or pushed to do what he did. Madara is acting under his own will which seems to be the same as Kaguya/Indra's will. He's one character that doesn't need to be redeem. Madara was hyped up the entire series, Obito was not. For him to change in heart, NOOOOO.

Madara was becoming too redundant. Kaguya might just bring an interesting flair back. It was a good thing to use her as a final villain. Ever since she was highlighted more, I had an inkling that she was the puppeteer.
