Ok, First Sasuke's new ability is not Teleportation ability.
Why?
Here not only did Sasuke change the location of himself and his sword, but he also managed to make a sword that was facing downwards, face upward to stab Madara. That means not only can Sasuke teleport, but he can also change the orientation of objects within his area. So this technique should be more properly referred to as a space manipulation technique.
Now I have recently been thinking on the topic of what exactly dictates the size of the user's area of effect in this technique and have come up with two ideas.
1. Chakra- in other words it could be that the amount or power of the user's chakra dictates the user's range.
2. Area of awareness- I would ordinarily just say field of vision, but Sasuke has shown that he does not have to be looking at an object in order for him to effect it with his technique. (didn't have to look at his sword or look away when he dodged the lightning) So u can pretty much say that Sasuke can teleport as far as his vision goes. Kaguya on the other hand has a much wider area of awareness thanks to her byakugan.
Someone made an interesting thread here:
In this thread it brings up the fact that becoming the Juubi Jinchuuriki can multiply ones Ocular prowess. Kaguya is a being FAR beyond even a Juubi Jinchuuriki and as such with her byakugan her ocular prowess should be unbelievable. Possibly even being able to see around and through the entire planet. This could have been what allowed Kaguya to find a pocket underneath the earth in which she could try to dispose of Team 7 in the river of lava as she did here:
I personally believe that #2 is a better fit, but I also think that a user of this jutsu may be able to teleport to a different area simply by imagining the desired location. Kaguya did activate her byakugan beforehand,
but when she actually used the technique her byakugan was deactivated so she may have already gotten a vivid depiction of the area in which she wanted to go and simply used her jutsu to bring them to her desired location. If this is true then that means that the user can actually teleport to anywhere that they can imagine/ picture in their mind.
