Madara shat on them with Perfect Susanoo. Hashirama fights on PS's level with Sage Mode and Mokujin alone. Adding Danzo isn't going to bridge the gap between the Gokage and that level of strength, especially when Hashirama still has Shinsuusenju, which is a good tier above Perfect Susanoo when it comes to strength.
