During the First Shinobi World War, he was part of a team consisting of Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Koharu Utatane, Homura Mitokado, Danzō Shimura, and Torifu Akimichi. He is assumed to have died at some later point, either before or during the Uchiha clan massacre.
It is just a thought i had recently floating min my head remind you it is a theory
not proven i do not need you to tell me that but the very fact he death is not confirmed logically leads it to be open to detail some twill argue against it and rightly so but if you were to consider this theory then i think it also ties into with
who sasuke and orochimaru might go see.Orochimaru said "they" So either he is going to in my opinion the elders who are the only connection left to Kagami Uchiha and they are know to cover stuff up plus sasuke originally wanted to kill them two in the first place along with Danzo.
Or the one which tied into the reaper death seal with sasuke wanting to know about his clan and what is a village all the hokages can can tell them
what he needs to know hashirama knows the know then most
tobirama actually built the system that is runs off and was the one accused
of confining them in the guise of the police system he set up for the uchiha.
