Looks: Kadaj's appearance, like the other Remnants, is markedly inspired by Sephiroth. Kadaj wears a long black coat, although he wears his zipped up, unlike Sephiroth, whose coat is closed only by a single buckle. He also has shoulder-length silver hair which partially covers his face and green cat-like eyes. He wields a double-bladed katana called Souba in battle. Kadaj is also left-handed like Sephiroth. In particular due to all their similarities, Vincent Valentine describes Kadaj as a "larval" form of Sephiroth.

Personality: Kadaj embodies Sephiroth's cruelty and insanity. Kadaj, though not having an exact age, is the leader of the Remnants: givingthe sense of a psychotic, unstoppable child. He's a lost and dazed youth with an insanity streak who talks quickly, then speaks slowly or breaks into laughter for no apparent reason.
Kadaj, above his brothers, is aware of the existence and plans of Jenova and Sephiroth, as neither Loz nor Yazoo even indicate they know Sephiroth exists. In spite of, or perhaps because of this, Kadaj's dedication to his Mother's cause is accompanied by a deep insecurity over his inferiority to Sephiroth in her eyes. Despite this, he is still a highly skilled warrior and a strong leader

Background Info.
History:
Sephiroth was a cold soul, always longing to bring destruction upon his enemies and thus joined the Root division of the ANBU. Because of the teachings of root, Sephiroth grew even more sadistic until he was driven to insanity. His cold exterior and professional attitude turned people away from him.
Following his fall into insanity, Sephiroth retained most of the above personality traits, but became murderous and vengeful. He also developed something of a messiah complex, proclaiming several times he was "the chosen one", destined to lead the Planet and become a god. As such, he tried to bring konoha to the brink of destruction, prompting him into a terrible battle with Minato. Minato defeated and assumely destroyed Sephiroth and left his body in a valley bordering the village of sound.
Sephiroth's body was then taken away by a cult known as "the children of Jenova". Being a shell of his former self, Sephiroth's cell were extracted and implanted into three slaves in the cult. . . with sickening consequences. The 3 slaves went berserk and destroyed the cult in a blind rage before setting off, oblivious of each other. After a while, one of them collapsed and Sephiroth's cells(which were implanted ) began to multiply rapidly and feed the memories into the experiment known as . . . Kadaj. (Kadaj's name is derived from the Persian word khadaj, which means "incomplete". This is obviously a referral to Kadaj as a remnant of Sephiroth) Rising from the ground, Kadaj set off to konoha, where he was taken in as an orphan and trained to be a ninja. Due to Sephiroth's memories,, Kadaj began looking for his lost brothers and Jenova, whom he calls mother, the original source of Sephiroth's immense power.

The Souba (双刃, ?) is a weapon used by Kadaj, leader of the Remnants of Sephiroth, as his primary weapon. The Souba is a katana with two reinforced parallel blades, set a small distance apart from each other. The design's intent is to trap an opponent's blade between them and disarm them.
