I personally don't think we'll ever see Kabuto again in the series- because his final lines in Gaiden allowed the character to come full circle.

Very nice touch Kishi. On another note, how did Kabuto become head of the orphanage? Didn't Urushi say that 'his house is an orphanage'?

He literally wouldn't be allowed to escape the cave if he hadn't reformed. Somebody did the math and found out that in illusion time- Kabuto was in Izanami for 30+ years.

I give that personally to Shikamaru. True adult themes show that without complaining he not only took on the most responsibilities of any character despite the 'what a drag' immaturity of his childhood...but he also completely is at peace and loves becoming a man like his father- giving into being a father and a husband despite avoiding it throughout the entire series.

Kabuto and Itachi v similar tho and when Kishi felt like it he gave both a lot of nice writing treatment.

I personally think this was the nicest ending he could've possibly had...maybe not the one he deserved. I always loved him because the idea of a identity crisis is a very real one in my experience & it's also so so interesting on paper. Kabuto is one of many characters who had literally just one thing to live for and had it purposely stripped from them just like my other favourite Obito.

I'm sure both Sasuke and Naruto could've proved his innocence- Sasuke knowing about Izanami and Naruto being able to sense evil and all that.
