I'm pretty sure that he'll turn out to be a good guy or neutral. Kabuto is young and has had a horrible past, I don't think that it's Kishi's style to kill him off or keep him on the bad side. Plus, that panel where his old friend from the foster home said something about missing Kabuto is probably foreshadowing Kabuto's return from the dark side.

I believe that he has some more to offer to the story.. and besides now him and orochimaru will make a dangerous team
