Kabuto vs Pain

Intel: full for Kabuto, none for Pain
Restrictions: Edo Tensei
Distance: Same as Sasuke/Itachi vs Kabuto

I believe Pain wins, but I've yet to see a good argument for Kabuto.

Pain opens by spamming summons. Kabuto in non-SM has nothing to retaliate and must retreat in order to charge nature chakra. Pain detects him with Rinnegan and sensing and proceeds to bombard the entire cave with Asura missiles. Kabuto is in big trouble until he goes into DSM which he may not even get a chance to do since the cave will be blown to bits and his cover will cease to exist.

If Kabuto starts in non-SM, Pain can win easily if he goes all out. A few chakra rods would put him out of commission. No need for Chibaku Tensei, Chou Shinra Tensei, or Gedo Mazo unless Kabuto manages to achieve DSM.

I'd give this to Kabuto high difficulty even w/o intel.


Muki tensei should screw them over, it's not an attack their field of vision is detecting beforehand because it's coming from underneath.


Pain's animals? Scary, Kidomaru's webs 1 shot them with ease.

Asura's missiles? Scary, Kabuto tanks them or dodges with ease.

Deva's gravity? Okay a little scary but he can shoot off Hakugeki right in Pain's face.

Preta path? Scary, Muki tensei screws him over.

He's not getting fodderized before transforming. He escaped an edo MS and an EMS User after all.

He'll use snakes and have the pains destroy them, in the mean time he'll cower away, while Rinnegan senses chakra everywhere in the cave they won't know where to attack. Asura will probably begin missile spamming, but that's not killing Kabuto.

Agreed, but Pain can vastly capitalize on Kabuto's pre-SM period if he can see the nature chakra being gathered. He can literally change the landscape unlike Itachi and Sasuke. A pre-emptive Chibaku Tensei would encase Kabuto within tons of rock and could effectively make his transformation useless if performed early enough.

-white rage can be used to paralyse he peins in quite a similar way how frog song did... As with full intel kabuto can finish off deva right away who is his Main threat

-sound genjutsu can also be used to paralyse animal path and shurado as manda 2 is powerful enough and durable enough to beat most of peins summons...

-his DSM reflexes allow him to get the advantage get most d the peins and he has the reflexes to prevent himself from chakra rods

-preta is rather useless in this battle since most of kabutos arsenal is either genjutsu or physical attacks... Not only that but the location is his terrain and with full intel... And the ability to spread himself and use silent killing methods on some paths gives kabuto the advantage
