Kabuto-maru colour scheme

Is it just me or does kabuto-maru in the anime look nothin like you expected him to. I was thinking black hood, not red/pink

like really he is supposed to be this big badass with the edo tensei's, now he just looks like some guy in a pink jumper playing with his checker board

I thought he was supposed to be more sinister looking, but that's left to the imagination of the artist/colorist.
