Itachi was going to solo Kabuto untill Sasuke showed up, Itachi exploited the fact that Sasuke was there, Itachi was planning to go to Kabuto on his own so it's pretty obvious that Itachi was convinced that he was going to Fodderize Kabuto, and he did. I love your denial.
