Well, edo jutsu is pretty ****ing useless if the edos just stand there doing nothing. Kabuto needs them to have at least a little thoughts, muscle control etc so they can move and perform abilities.

Yeah, we don't really know the history of the Uchiha in full. Madara and Izuna killed either their best friends or family in order to unlock MS. I'm wagering that those ninja had to be strong to some extent for someone like Madara who is power obsessed to even befriend.

Also as an honorable mention Sasuke's father. He wasn't the head of the Uchiha for no reason. He had to have the intel and power in order to withhold that status.

Its proven that it is because he can use both methods (mindless or couscous). And Hashirama was the reason Madara became that strong, Izuna was the reason madara is strong, Itachi is the reason sasuke is strong, Kyubi is the reason why naruto is strong, Obito is the reason why kakashi is strong, etc etc! =)

Well, i personally hate Madara, i think he is a boring character. But, he still broke out of Kabuto's control. And the only reason he did, is because Kabuto gave Madara too much consciousness.

Yeah, i think Madara breaking the Edo Tensei is enough proof that Kabuto had a lack of control, more than likely he knew Kabuto would simply fail sooner or later, then he would take control of himself again, to what end would he need to free himself, Kabuto gave him complete control over his own mind from the get go because he knew without his mind Madara is a useless vessel and Kabuto lacked knowledge of the abilities of Madara meaning using him to his full extent without his mind would be impossibile.
In summary your making a pointless arguement, thats all this is, no facts can be presented by either side of the debate, just your take on things and another persons and you hope simply to bully them in to submission with your arguements, which is pointless.

Or he could have locked away Madara's personality and free will with the talisman that also subdued the legendary Hashirama and Tobirama.

Either way, Kabuto isn't using his own technique. He's using a technique that was pioneered by the Second Hokage and Orochimaru. He's also using Orochimaru's powers in the first place. He's pretty much simply a leech who never forged his own legacy.

It just makes no sense to say that. Also he formed his own legacy he became a dragon sage he mainly perfected edo tensei, not to forget he was also one of the best spy's the leaf ever had actually probably the best spy the leaf ever had.

They do move untill they gain Composure/mind. They stand untill kabuto turns them on or tells them too do what he wants.

Exactly. Kabuto simply added to Orochimaru's jutsu, the way Oro added to Tobirama's, neither is superior to the other (well maybe Tobirama seeing as how he invented it in the first place).
I get what you're saying about Edo Madara and all, but I think that retaining their consciousness was a major flaw in Kabuto's plan, that may be one reason why Orochimaru just made them mindless killing machines, it would've been foolish to use Edo on Edo's inventor and expect to contain him while he had his personality in tact.
Great thread though. I really despise some of the noobs who haven't read ALL of the manga and yet feel they are right.

You know the 3 sannin said he was equal too kakashi in part one right??? So unless you think kakashi is fodder, he isnt based on manga fact (Seeing as kakashi was possibly the leafs best chunin)

well i judge from current events so kabuto was number 1 and no he can no longer summon or use madara as his own summon as madara is a free edo the only way i would class kabuto as number 1 is if say he died well still having all his op edos and not being sealed as you have to look at his abilitys now in the manga not in your parallel universe where kabuto still has these at his disposal ask yourself what can kabuto do now in the manga not what he could have done the answer is not much until shown otherwise i believe he is back to normal as oro took his chakra back and i dont believe kabuto has the large chakra reserve for sage mode.

But the shinobi you mentioned were already strong before. Madara was the Uchiha born with the most powerful chakra the Uchiha Clan has ever seen. First Uchiha to unlock MS along with his brother, and the first Uchiha to tame the nine-tails. Izuna and Hashirama aided him in becoming more powerful, but in a manner unlike Kabuto's and he was already the second most powerful ninja at that time to begin with.

The same could also be said about Naruto, Sasuke, etc. Sasuke unlocked 3-tomoe sharingan and could have unlocked MS by himself. Naruto is of the Uzumaki so he definitely had some potential too.

Kabuto is virtually powerless without the powers he acquired, unlike Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, etc.

Kabuto in his prime was still defeated since his weakness was Itachi as he stated in the manga. Any Uchiha with Izanami can defeat Kabuto. The same couldn't be said about true legends like Hashi, Madara, Saru, etc.

I will admit though, in Kabuto's "prime" (if you want to call it that) he could pretty much defeat anyone with the edo tensei army. But what about without?

Itachi's already explained all of this about Kabuto very clearly in the manga and why he ended up ultimately failing.

Kakashi was a jonin actually. And they never said he's equal to Kakashi. They said he was *arguably* equal in terms of skill. Kabuto's skill set included being a diverse ninja with intelligence that rivaled or surpassed Kakashi's. His medical jutsu was also nearly on par with Tsunade's.

All in all though, Kabuto in his true prime was either slightly inferior to Kakashi or equal.

Edit: And for the record, we're talking about pt.1 Kakashi.
