Here's the third part of the characteristics of the members of K12. This part will be for Team Asuma, later today I'm gonna make the characteristics of Team Guy. Enjoy:
As a member of Konohagakure's Nara clan, Shikamaru and his teammates Ino Yamanaka and Choji Akimichi form the new generation of formation Ino-Shika-Cho, with their fathers being the previous. In the beginning of the series, during the Chunin Exams, when Team Ten was in the Forest of Death, Shikamaru thought that maybe there isn't any weaker team than their, but he thought that Team Seven may be even weaker. However, he uses his clan's Shadow techniques for the first time to save Sakura and incapacitated Naruto and Sasuke, not to fight them. He and his teammates use a lot of formations together, but his signature moves in Part 1 were Kage Mane no Jutsu and Kage-Kubishibari no Jutsu, which he first uses during his fight with Tayuya. During the Chunin Exams Finals, Asuma determinate him as a genius, due to Shikamaru always defeating him on Shogi. His skills were spotted by the Konoha Higher-Ups, and he was promoted a Chunin after Orochimaru's assault on the village. He was the first of the K12 to become a Chunin, while Naruto and Sasuke are still Genins. In Part 2, he was chosen to be examiner in the Chunin Exams alongside Temari. Later, when Kakuzu and Hidan attacked the Fire Temple and killed Chiriku, he was sent on a mission with Asuma, Kotetsu and Izumo to kill the Akatsuki. During the battle he showed some new moves, such as Kagenui no Jutsu and Kagemane Shuriken no Jutsu. However, after his teacher's death, Shikamaru defeated Hidan by dismembering his body with pre-prepared trap, using Kage Yose no Jutsu. Shikamaru didn't had any serious battles after that and he wasn't showed to be having some development, but in the 4th Great Ninja War, he was able to stop enraged Six-Tailed Kinkaku with his Kage Mane no Jutsu. Later on in the war, he bounded the Juubi with his clansmen. When the beast was preparing Bijuu Dama to kill Naruto, Shikamaru ordered Kitsuchi to give information about the hand signs of a normal Doton: Doryuheki. That way, he and the whole Shinobi Alliance was able to use the technique to block the Juubi's attempt to kill Naruto, before Minato arrived and sent the blast to the ocean. When the Juubi created clones of itself to stop the Alliance getting closer to it's main body, Shikamaru and his team used Formation E, in which Shikamaru used Kage Tsukami no Jutsu to bind Choji's expansioned body, being able to use his friend's Nikudan Yo-Yo technique. Shikamaru is the son of Konohagakure's genius Shikaku Nara, and just like his father, his intelligence is on a very high level, as he's one of the smartest characters in the manga and the strategist of the Shinobi Alliance after his father's death.
She's a descendant of the Yamanaka clan and uses only Mind-Body Switch techniques. She never enters direct skirmish and waits for Shikamaru to bound the enemy with his Shadow techniques. However, during her fight with Sakura, they battled mainly with Taijutsu, because Shikamaru wasn't there to use his jutsu and it was very risky to try to catch Sakura with her Shintenshin no Jutsu. She figured out how to catch Sakura with her technique, by cutting her hair and using Chakra Hair Trap Jutsu. She bounded Sakura's legs and used successfully her Shintenshin no Jutsu, but thanks to Naruto and Inner Sakura, she couldn't make Sakura surrender and win the match. In the final Part 1 filler arc, when Gaara was abducted, Ino and her teammates from K12 (then 11, without Sasuke) went to bring back the favor to the Sand for the Sasuke retrieval mission, but Ino did nothing in the fight. Sakura on the other hand was already novice Medical-Nin, and Ino decided to ask her to become one too. In Part 2, Ino is indeed a medic, having learned some new techniques, such as Shintenshin Bunshin no Jutsu and Chakra Transfer Technique. After her father's death during the 4th Great Ninja War, Ino used the Yamanaka Clan Telepathy to connect Shikamaru to the other people on the battlefield. That was how Shikamaru and Kitsuchi showed the others the hand signs for a single Eath Wall. When the Juubi charged Bijuu Dama to attack Naruto, Ino used her new-learned Doton: Doryuheki alongside the remained of the Shinobi Alliance to block it's attempt, before Minato appeared and teleported the bomb away. After the beast separated and created clones to stop the Shinobi Alliance from getting closer to it's main body, Ino used Kanchi Denden to show Shikamaru where the enemies are and let him use Choji's Nikudan Yo-Yo to wipe them out.

Change in personality
At the beginning, Shikamaru is lazy young man who doesn't want to get in trouble. He uses the phrase "It's a drag." for almost everything he's doing. He thinks of himself as a weak ninja, exactly what he thinks about his teammates, too. However, he wins his battle against Tsuchi Kin in the Chunin Exams Prelims Stage easily, and then again he defeats Temari, but loses due to handover. As the story progressed, Shikamaru became more and more responsible and serious. During the Sasuke revival mission, he told his team that he's responsible for their lives and won't let anyone of the team gets killed. In Part 2, Shikamaru looks much more matured and there isn't even a memory of his former self, during the first part of Part 1. He changed a lot when Asuma was killed by Hidan and for a moment, he was cold, indrawn person, before he decided to avenge his master. Due to his smartness, he was chosen as a vice-captain of the Fourth Division, which captain and grand commander of the Shinobi Alliance was the Kazekage Gaara. His personality didn't changed at all during the 4th Great Ninja War, even when Shikamaru's father died and he was appointed as the Alliance's main strategist, and he remains the same cool, calm and collected person.

Choji Akimichi
Improvement in skills
Choji was an irresponsible person in Part 1 and he was thinking only about his stomach. His hobby was to eat much and train little. That's the reason why Ino told him that he should've get more kunais and less chips and candies, while the trio was in the Forest of Death. When Team Seven were attacked by the Sound ninjas, Choji was afraid and didn't wanted to help them, because he thought that this would be a suicide. However, due to Ino's orders, the group went to help Sakura save her teammates and he used his Baika no Jutsu, combined with Nikudan Sensha against Zaku. During the Chunin Exams Prelims Stage, he used the same combination against Zaku's teammate, Dosu Kinuta, but was easily defeated by Orochimaru's man. Choji participated in Shikamaru's team to bring Sasuke back and during his fight with Jirobou, he showed some new techniques, such as Nikudan Hari Sensha, Bubun Baika no Jutsu and Cho Baika no Jutsu. Also, he consumed the three colored pills of the Akimichi clan, with the red one making him 100 times stronger than a normal human. After that, he finished off Jirobou with Chоdan Bakugeki. In Part 2, he was shown using several new techniques, such as Choharite and Daburu Nikudan Sensha, alongside his father Choza Akimichi. During the 4th Great Ninja War, in his fight with reincarnated Asuma, Choji used Karori Kontororu. With the technique, he achieved butterfly chakra wings by converting his body calories into chakra, without swallowing the red chakra pill. When he and his teammates used Formation E, he used his Baika no Jutsu to become larger, and Shikamaru bounded him with the Kage Tsukami no Jutsu, allowing him to use Nikudan Yo-Yo to wipe out a couple of Juubi clones.
Change in personality
Choji is a kind person with a lovely heart. He loves his friends and doesn't want to hurt them, which was the reason for him to refuse to fight Asuma or Shikamaru during his trainings with his team. He thinks that he's the weakest of the K12, but Shikamaru believes in him and knows that he's strong. In the beginning, Choji doesn't fight much. He only thinks about eating barbecue and other yummy things, and he hates to be called fat. His personality remained the same for the most of Part 1, but during his fight with Jirobou, he got a new-found confidence and didn't wanted to disappoint Shikamaru. However, in Part 2, when Asuma died, he changed a little, alongside his teammates. When the young Ino-Shika-Cho encountered reincarnated Kakuzu during the 4th Great Ninja War, he told them that they also have Gold and Silver, revealing them their reincarnated sensei Asuma Sarutobi and the Fifth Hokage's lover, Dan Kato. Asuma ordered Choji to attack him, even called him fat, but he didn't wanted to fight with his sensei. However, in the end he became confident and left his kind part behind, crushing Asuma with Cho Baika no Jutsu after he used Karori Kontororu. When Sasuke arrived on the battlefield, he and Ino said that it was nostalgic and both rookies weren't together from a very long time, but Shikamaru remained cautious and replied that he doesn't believe him, but their only chance to defeat the Juubi is to cooperate.

Change in personality
Ino was in love with Sasuke Uchiha since they were children. She's beautiful and politely girl. Her clan have a family business, a flower shop, and she's working at it as a seller. Ino's rival and best friend is Sakura, as they were very close when they were kids, but when Sakura admitted that she likes Sasuke, Ino started to look different on her. When they graduated from the Academy, they hated each other and often abused themselves. Sakura was teamed up with Sasuke and this further angered Ino, who abused her during the start of the Chunin Exams, mentioning her big forehead. Sakura replied however, with "ugly pig". Their rivalry continued, as they fought during the Chunin Exams Prelims Stage and once again, they were abusing each other. After this fight, they started to converge again and in Part 2 there aren't many quarrels between the two. After meeting Sai, she told Sakura that he reminds her of Sasuke and visibly, she liked him, but was still in love with Sasuke, and when Danzo became Hokage candidate and gave order to hunt down Sasuke, she was very sad. During the 4th Great Ninja War, she had very personal emotional moments, like her reunion with Asuma and her father's death after the Juubi destroyed the HQ with Bijuu Dama. Her personality was much different, much more mature than in Part 1, and when Sasuke arrived on the battlefield, she showed once again her romantic interest for him, by surprisingly greeting him. Her personality was much different in Part 2 at all, but during the 4th Great Ninja War, it changed even more.
