So Kaguya's Third eye is confirmed Sharingan that had the Rinnegan's rings. I would presume Madara's Third eye is the same, a Sharingan. Sasukes eye is a Tomoed Rinnegan, but this begs the question. WTF is the Juubi's eye? Did Kishi just make an error with Sasuke's Tomoed Rinnegan and it's only meant to be 6 Tomoe (It was only one panel that was 9 Tomoe) and the Juubi's eye is 6 Tomoe (I think... thus Rinnegan?) like Sasuke's So the Tomoe Sharingan (Kaguya's and Madara's third eye) is 9 Tomoe, but Tomoe Rinnegan (Sasuke's and presumably the Juubi's) is 6 Tomoe? Idk it's a Mindf*ck!

sasukes tomoes keep changing.. there are theories floating about that the the techniques sasuke is using are at the cost of his tomoes which recharge over time..
also the juubi in the flashbacks im pretty sure had 9 tomo's and i believe the the reason why the current juubi had 6 tomos could be because he still wasnt completely at full power

EDIT: If you look closely at the third ring near the top of it's outer eye it looks like it has a tomoe too... lol. Tomoe's everywhere!

I think it was done that way to parallel the 9T in Sasuke's eyes to the tomoe on Naruto's back. I am starting to believe that Sasuke's eyes are the 9 Tomoe doujutsu split among two eyes. 6T Rinnengan on the more prominent side and 3T one the other. It seems like Kishi was too focused on symbolism to make a mistake like that.
The sage said kaguya had the power of the sharingan not the eye... I believe the eye sasuke has will allow him to use sharingan techniques and new rinnegan techniques... He just used perfect susanoo which is a sharingan power and that teleporting thing he does is his rinnegan ability
