I know Madara and Kaguya both said they're immortal, presumably because of the Juubi. Because why not.

But if they were actually immortal then why was Hagoromo, a Juubi Jin, aging and, you know, dying? Is there something I'm missing here?

Kaguya and Madara possessed the power of the Shinju. Hagoromo didn't. He was simply a JJ. That's why Madara didn't announce himself as being immortal until after absorbing the Shinju. Having the Juubi's power + Shinju power is what gave them that immortality.

Because Hagoromo extracted the Juubi from himself.

Kaguya is Juubi

Madara is Jin

Kaguya is immortal and will not aging

Madara is not immortal but he able to regenerated

Hagoromo died in not too older ages after Gedo Mazo extraction, maybe he got older in his space time dimension

Can you prove he didn't have the Shinju?
Because Hagoromo extracted the Juubi from himself.
He was still aging and dying beforehand. Right now it just looks like more pointless sloppiness from Kishi...

Because he was dying.

OT: Madara was nearly killed by Gai. It's just very hard to kill them b/c of the regen and OP defense.

According to the manga, it seems that his control over Juubi had weakened for some reason, to the point where he had to unseal it and then to die due to old age and lack of Juubi's chakra. The reasons of this is unknown, because if it's just old age, the question "why Kaguya is immortal" remains.

I think it's a good possibility that Hagoromo, seeing as his ideals failed, simply decided to pass on, "permamently" solving the issue with Juubi by dividing it, and letting the future generations to decide their future themselves. If you think about it, at that point it was the only logical choice for him.

But then again, all we can do is to assume. Nothing is for certain.

both Hagoromo and Black Zetsu were seen stating in not so many words that he(Hagoromo) never had the Shinju's power. If he had it, he wouldn't have gotten old. That was obvious enough.

Kaguya and Madara have a creation rebirth like jutsu.
Rinnegan also has a immortality thingy, probably the king of hell.
Kaguya probably uses Tsunade's youth jutsu, or you don't age when sealed

It's because Madara absorbed the Shinju which was pretty much Kaguya in a way.

To answer your question Madara gained extra Tomoes around his sleeves and near the bottom of his cloak which resembles Kaguya while Hagoromo doesn't have that.

No, he wasn't.

Even Kurama said he only started to die after de-Jinning himself, then extracting the Gedo Statue would've been the final straw.

Besides, you've misinterpreted Madara's statement. He said that he was immortal, not that he wouldn't age. And he made that comment in response to Naruto saying they would defeat him and Madara said he was immortal; referring to his immense regen power.

Gedo mazou in itself should be enough for immortality, madara leached on it for so long.

Hagoromo died cuz he has sealed gedo and previously had bijuus extracted which means death.

Wrong.

Hagoromo was getting old and came to the conclusion that splitting the Juubi's power was the best way to stabilize peace in the world.

It's been made very clear that Hagoromo was only entering the realm of death after extracting the Juubi, with the sealing of the Gedo Statue being the final straw.

Okay kaguya is the source of all chakra so anyone other than her that states to be immortal are just lying. Unless you're someone like hidan (kakuzu technically doesn't count), other than that, you're basically just gallivanting in your power. Even sasuke stated something in reference to him and immortality but that's usually an in the moment scenario.

Hagoromo didn't have the Juubi. You kinda answered your own question. If he were to have that then it'd be a different story.
