I personally never liked Sasuke's character much, and even more so after Itachi's death. Lord Sasuke's current actions are not justified, regardless of what any Sasuke-ass-licker will come up with, because what Itachi did was his choice, Itachi was an intelligent individual (more so than many others in Naruto) and he made an informed choice that he believed in, much like Naruto believes in his Sasuke-I-love-you bs. What Lord Sasuke is doing right now is spitting on all of his older brother's wishes and on his sacrifice, trying to make it as pointless as a flying rat's ****. Well done, emo kid. (yes, as you may have guessed I dislike this character).
Sakura's love for him is just as unjustified, she was a kid when she last saw him "normal" and even then he acted kind of... bitchy. I don't get what she loves about him, she's either a masochist who comes from a patriarchal family with a chauvinist pig as a father (and role model), or she is simply blind and inlove with his status of the perfect shinobi, a blindness that continues even now if she is still running after him with her tongue out.
Despite being illogical, Naruto's chase after Sasuke still appeals to me, because I think that it's a part of his character that I will really miss if he suddenly gave up on him. It just won't be the same Naruto anymore. His will to never give up on his promises and chase after his dreams regardless of the personal consequences is something that every person wants to accomplish or at least get close to. He accomplishes his goals in an unconventional way, if he is given option A and B, he chooses C, combining the best from the first two and he does that with a smile on his face. He is a suitable protagonist, one that people can easily relate to or at least look up to. Therefore, despite his chase after Sasuke being highly improbable by now, I think Naruto is the most consistent character of the initial leading trio and he has my full support to continue dorking around.
