I understand that this is possibly just anime only and he might not have some of the techniques he's using here in the manga but it's really cool to see a character using abilities of all the characters I loved from the original manga

Shinki too savage , but we already knew that. I love the music used this ep , especially when Sarada rushes in saying dont underestimate me. He voice actor went all out , and Boruto's too. Shinki straight up bitch slapping Sarada was too hardcore , the scene where she got feathered was nicely done , again nice work by the voice actress. The clash between Boruto and Shinki was all kinds of epic and the way it transitioned to Purple lighning was too EPIC. Then that final we have the most touching and best parts after Naruto steps in and Boruto's mental defeat. All in all this ep gets a 10 outa 9.

The whole episode, he kept rambling on about being superior to Konoha and to the hokage's son. What is his deal? I wonder, did Konoha have anything to do with why Shinki was (presumably) an orphan (before Gaara adopted him)?

Not sure either. Maybe he's disappointed? It's possibly as a result of mix of his background, personality and external factors.

Gaara must mean the world to him and he probably holds him in very high regard but he sees the whole world placing Konoha on a pedestal (ignoring the strength of the other villages including Sunagakure in the process) and probably hears stories about how great the village is seeing as they're basically the major world power in the NV. We even had that one episode with the "Konoha has many war heroes from the 4th Great Shinobi War" thing but then he actually gets to see them up close and they really aren't all that. Must be disgusting to watch the entire village getting babied by Naruto and becoming complacent in their peace time considering his rough background. Look how easily he floored every Genin that came at him and he pretty much 1v2'd the Hokage and ShadowKage's kids so it's like this is the great Hidden Leaf, home of the 4th Great Shinobi War heroes?

Or he just enjoys trolling his adversaries

Yeah.. The best episode i've seen to date tbh though i haven't seen much. That feathered technique paints a scenario in my head where Shinki is unstoppable..

His clone technique is very fast just like Gaara's. If an enemy waltzes through it, they should automatically get tagged the same way simple feathers tagged Sarada which means they can't evade IS projectiles. Kid has so much potential tbh.
