First of all naruto is holding back by not using the other chakra of the other tailed beast, hence why he hasn't gone into ashura mode, but as it stands naruto now has both yin and yang kurama, which we all know plays a part in the size fluctuation. A lil off topic: I read in a thread (it was obviously a naruto bash thread in diguise) one guy said
Naruto couldn't modify the kurma avatar...........................................................................? WTF since when. It made me laugh and feel pity for the guy and people like him with his mindset. Like dude have you even read the manga. Since the first fight naruto could "modify" kurama's tails and use them as huge chakra hands, which we've seen multiple times over since. Not to mention he could also mofify the very chakra to acomodate other chakra to boost theirs lmao come on dude.
back on topic: just as suskue has gotten used to his sharinegan, naruto has gotten more acustomed to his avatar state, I doubt he's gotten full mastery over kurama in just 3 days.
But I do think over the fight he's start learning the mechanics. That's how it usually goes as far as getting stronger with your feats.
like his sage mode, he was said to have perfected it, yet he still had and has a lot of ground to cover to actually master it. Back when he "perfected" sage mode, he could only stay in that state for 5 ficken mins., I doubt that's perfection. You'll get where I going. Even though naruto has figured out the mechanics and has built upon those he is still "growing" with his powers even during this battle.
