Just How Did He Know?

Sorry to re visit an old topic but it's just something I've always wondered and never thought to ask..

How exactly did Obito know Itachi betrayed the Uchiha for Sasuke?

I know the answer may seem stupidly obvious to you lucky few but as for me I've just never even able to come up with a full proof answer I mean..

We could say Itachi was straight up and told him from the start considering Obito aided him with the Uchiha Massacre but Itachi never trusted Obito in the slightest, evidenced from when he put the Ameterasu trap on Sasuke's eye, I just can't see him telling Obito anything he didnt want him knowing..

We could also say that Zetsu being the master spy he is, tailed Itachi enough to find out everything, the only problem I have with that is Itachi was such an incredibly private person, no one knew anything about him, even his own family and clan members second guessed themselves when it came to his true intentions, I doubt very highly Itachi would have been careless enough to let anything slip for Zetsu to report..

When Itachi was Re animated he was even seen to be shocked that Obito knew so much about his real intentions, I just feel like this question was never truly answered or thought about in depth, if you think about it, it seems almost impossible that Obito knew anything of Itachi's alterior motive but he did.

If I have missed anything please let me know as I am honestly at a loss on this one..

I'm pretty sure he told him from the start that if he lays a hand on Brother Sasuke he'll kill him.

Well first of all a big point is that Itachi recruited Obito into helping him (though he thought it was Madara). So easily with a recruitment he could place limitations.

For example, maybee service in Akatsuki for help killing his clan as well as leaving Sasuke alone (though Itachi did join to watch the organization...its more theoretical).

We also don't know exactly WHAT Obito did during the massacre...he could have simply been responsible for taking out the Uchiha that were members of the Police Force (prepared for a fight), or maybee he did even less (he went out to find any Uchiha that was off on missions).

The fact that Itachi recruited Obito for help is honestly the part that makes me believe this is how he knew....Itachi wouldn't have recklessly been like, "We are going to kill the Uchiha together."...more like, " Madara, you can have your revenge upon the clan so long as you do not lay a hand on my little brother Sasuke" (only said Madara because Itachi believed him to be so).

But at the least he could've been Agent Obito

Well there's that I guess lol but He knew everything! Like the whole Danzo ordering the attack, Itachi wanting to die by Sasuke's Hand, everything! Lol

Good question. It could be that Obito probably worked it out because Sasuke was the only being spared. Also, he met Danzo around the time of the massacre, so perhaps he got his information from him.

Hopefully Kishi will explain that event a bit more later on in the story.

Maybe they are already in infinite tsukuyomi and defeating Obito and Madara is a way to deceive people into thinking they arn't in it and that they brought peace to the world by them self. Could explain why Obito knows everything, maybe its because he created everything already.
