So what exactly did Minato do that makes you all think that Minato was stronger than Orochimaru. All Minato did was seal half of Kyuubi's chakra inside of him using Reaper Death Seal and seal the other half into Naruto. That doesn't prove how Minato is superior towards Orochimaru.

Also, not all of Orochimaru's techniques have been shown.
During his battle with Hiruzen, he did not perform all of his techniques. After using Edo Tensei, he simply watched as Hashirama and Tobirama fought against Hiruzen.
During his battle against Tsunade and Jiraiya he was unable to use his hands thanks to Hiruzen *Sarcasm*
During his battle against Naruto he was unable to use his hands and it was nearly time for him to find a new host.
During his battle with Sasuke he was so sick he could barely move. He could only use his "Living Corpse Reincarnation" which in no way is a technique used for fighting.
During his battle with Itachi he did not have much knowledge about Itachi's Susanoo and was stabbed by the Totsuka sword and sealed in it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the time when Minato fought against Tobi, Tobi wasn't even half as strong as he is now and yet Minato had difficulty in defeating him. Nevertheless saying that "Minato had to fight against Kyuubi and Tobi" is wrong. Why?

1) Besides, Minato there were other shinobi as well who were fighting against the Kyuubi (Including Hiruzen) so Minato was not alone.
2) Tobi was so weak that I can't even say that he was a problem for Minato .
There were so many things wrong with this post that it's not even worth the time to correct. Please go back and re-read or re-watch the whole Minato flashback.

More like you need to go and learn more about Orochimaru.

Please refer to my other posts in this thread, they have more than enough evidence to debunk your claim that Orochimaru could have defeated Obito and Kurama.

I think it must be all the Sannin fans who disagreed with Hiruzen for choosing Minato over Oro.... =D =D

You act as if Minato only has FTG, Rasengan, and RDS. He also probably has jutsu's not shown yet. Your arguments are weak bro. smdh..

Deciding whether Minato would be better as the 4th Hokage or Orochimaru would be better as the 4th Hokage is NOT something that revolves around the Kyuubi incident.*

1) Orochimaru managed to survive the battle against Hanzo. Something that Minato could not do.
2) Orochomaru was part of Root with dealt with almost everyone who posed a threat towards the village. Minato was part of the ANBU commanded by the Hokage which in no way could even survive a single mission given to them by Root.*
3) Oh so Minato dodged the Raikage's punch? Orochimaru killed the 4th Kazekage and 3rd Hokage.
4) Orochimaru has mastered Senjutsu while Minato had not.*
5) Orochimaru's 3 subordinates: Anko Mitarashi, Kabuto Yakushi and Sasuke Uchiha have accomplished way more than Kakashi Hatake, Rin Nohara and Obito Uchiha
6) Minato died from using the Reaper Death Seal? Orochimaru was able to stop Hiruzen when he attempted to seal away Orochimaru using the Reaper Death Seal (Although he got Orochomaru's arms), Orochimaru survived getting absorbed by Sasuke, Orochimaru survived even though he was sealed by Itachi's Totsuka Sword and Orochimaru survived even though he used the Reaper Death Seal: Release.*
7. So Minato created the Rasengan? Now let's compare Rasengan to Orochimaru's Living Corpse Reincarnation, Shedding Skin, Cursed Seal etc. (Yes, it was Orochimaru who had created the Cursed Seal, Juugo had not. Juugo simply possessed its powers.)*
8. "OH and Obito knew Minato's jutsu as well being a former subordinate..and Minato still got him.."*
* * *Hiruzen knew about Orochimaru's techniques yet he failed to defeat Orochimaru.*

Minato has to be the weakest Hokage. You simply cannot claim that Hiruzen was the weakest just because of 1 battle. Hiruzen was old and had not fought for a long time. He did not possess the same power he did when he was young. Orochimaru was Hiruzen's favourite pupil and yet he could not kill Orochimaru even at the time he had realized that Orochimaru had betrayed Konoha. Even though Enma begged him to kill Orochomaru he still could not. At that time Hiruzen was a healthy man while during his battle against Orochimaru he was had turned old. He wanted to forget how Orochomaru had betrayed the village yet he fought with such great bravery and ferocity. Now look at Minato... Actually let's just stop this argument.*

I recall a panel saying Minato had the kind of talent you'd see once every decade.

Well to put things into perspective, Orochimaru had the kind of talent you'd see once every few decades.

Orochimaru is a genius, he is very strong and talented, it was for these reasons that he was chosen to be Hiruzen's successor. However, as we all know, he was a bit of a "psycho" too. So obviously, he could never be hokage.

But, I imagine Orochimaru's strength was clear to other people as well. Quite a few people thought Hiruzen eventually choosing someone like Minato over Oro was a mistake.

Minato admitted that he did not live up to the expectations, which is why Orochimaru rubs it in Hiruzen's face.

Even Hiruzen himself admitted that Orochimaru was his favourite pupil but he could never become the 4th Hokage because of the darkness in him. Hiruzen then decided to make Jiraiya the Hokage however he refused. So it was decided to make Jiraiya's subordinate, Minato the Hokage

And i recall that it was said Minato was a "Prodigy" Common knowledge is that a Prodigy>Genius. Also not to mention that this entire show is based upon perseverance. Meaning someone who works hard will become stronger than a genius. Yet they cant become stronger than a Prodigy = "a person, having extraordinary talent or ability"; Genius = "A person of extraordinary intellect and talent: "One is not born a genius, one becomes a genius" (Simone de Beauvoir).
c. A person who has an exceptionally high intelligence quotient, typically above 140." So going back that logic. Those 2 words alone show the difference between Oro and Minato.

Minato died at a very young age. Orochimaru had 17 years to learn more about the Reaper death seal. So its not that surprising. ( Present Time ) now if your argument is that in the past when Minato was alive and Oro was smarter than How can you know that? What do you define being smarter as? They were both Highly intelligent. one being a genius the other being a prodigy.

Actually the point is that he had 17 years to do it. Regardless in how long it took him to actually do it. The fact of the matter is your argument is invalid. Minato died before he could even try if he even were to choose to try. So again. Nowhere in the anime nor manga does it say Oro is more intelligent than Minato and there are no facts proving that either one of them is more intelligent then the other.

I notice actually that Minato was too great for Orochimaru. The reason is Minato was Jiraya's student while Orochimaru was Jiraya's rival (somehow). For Oro to lose to Minato, it mean that not only Minato's potential was better than Orochimaru's, but also Minato was already a match for him at a younger age. Now, add to these the will of fire of Minato, and you can see that only bad guys were doing campaign for Oro. At the end, we can see who really wanted to be Hokage.
