[Theory] Just a thought

I was thinking, Luffy really wants to win his brothers mera mera DF, but he can't eat it himself.
So what I was thinking is that he'll keep it, until the last member of the strawhat pops up and that guy will have a Ace-like character, and Luffy eventually will give him the fruit because like that his brother will live on next to him as a Nakama.

any opinions on this thought?

I hope that whoever receives the Mera Mera fruit doesn't have a similar personality to Ace. It'd just feel like a copy rip- off, would probably make Luffy feel at least a tad bit uneasy and it would be unoriginal. One of the things that makes One Piece great is that all of the characters personalities are original.

If he does give it to one of his crew, i hope he gives it to zoro or sanji.

It seems like the ability would fit sanji very well

Jimbe will be the next nakama unless he dies and since he is a fishman DF wouldn't really benefit the SH as much as a skilled swimmer. I think Zoro or Sanji might get it, although Sanji said he would only eat a DF if it allows him to perv on girls, although he might eat it if he knows its for Luffy to be happy.
