So when Jiraiya died, he fell to the bottom of the lake/sea/ocean in Amegakure. Kabuto said his body was too far deep in the lake to get DNA from it. So when Konan split the lake with her paper abyss jutsu in her fight with Tobi, couldn't she have potentially uncovered Jiraiya's body from the bottom?

I guess there's nothing to say that it was the same lake. But it seemed like it's possible since it was the largest lake around in both fights.

So, you're saying that he landed up on shore?! This is a stupid theory, I'm sorry you think like this.

These threads are stupid; no way in hell are they going to Edo Jiraiya. 'Nuff said.

This is a stupid thought, no offence :|

With the war Kishimoto has made death a really hard thing to take seriously anymore. Of all the characters brought back by the edo tensei, Jiraiya was one that I didn't want to see brought back. I want the death of at least one character to be respected and left alone. However, Kabuto's response about Jiraiya was very silly since in the fight w/Pain, Jiraiya bled everywhere, lost an arm, and puked blood. There is honestly no excuse for insufficient DNA, but I don't want him brought back. It does seem more probable thought now that his Sannin counterparts have met again. The only slightly cool thing would be if the Legendary Sannin and the New Age Sannin fought together. Not saying it's going to happen though, so be cool with your lives.

It's not a stupid idea. :/ But Jiraiya won't come back. Otherwise, the whole part of the manga about Naruto getting over his death would be pointless. All the edos that came back in this war were either to a. tie loose ends or b. fill up space in the roster (The scorch release and blast release edos for example).

How you got landing on shore from being at the bottom of the ocean, I will never understand. I'm sorry you can't follow my superior thinking.
And I didn't say they were going to have an Edo Jiraiya. I'm saying it was a coincidence in the manga that could be taken further. It's called having an imagination. Try it sometimes.

Dafuq is going in this thread?? Can you people not read?? He didn't say ANYTHING about Edo Jiraiya! Randomly pulling stuff out of your asses. He quite clearly said "Couldn't Konan have uncovered his body from the lake?" and it seemed to be stated in conditional sense, meaning to convey the contingency or possibility in the sense that there is an alternate world where this happened. If Konan uncovered Jiraiya's body, there is no way in hell she would give it up to Tobi and Kabuto to do their disgusting disrespectful-to-the-dead stuff with it. Why do you think she fought Tobi so hard when he came after Nagato's body?

My imagination is endless.

Also you can't use superior and imagination in the same sentence.

I'm just saying, Jiraiya will never be brought back.

No. A thousand no's. Jiraiya's body is probably being crushed by the pressure, or is just gone and should stay out of our minds. His body would be gone anyways. Weren't most of those papers that split the ocean paper bombs? that'd leave nothing of Jiraiya's rotting remains when they exploded.

Nooooooo.

The dude was never saying J-Man is going to be brought back, he was just asking if it's possible that the river that Konon split is the same one J-Man is in, and if so, if it was possible that she could have gotten his body at that point.

As one of the more hostile members of NB, even I can tell that you're wrong and outta line here.

Also, if imagination contradicts superiority as you are saying, and you claim your imagination is endless, then you are are declaring that you are endlessly inferior.

I'm one of the bigger *******s on this site and I logged in to tell you that you kinda crossed the line on that one. Who on EARTH gave you the right to tell someone their thoughts are stupid. Just as you have freedom of speech to call someone stupid, I have the freedom to call you a ****.

On the topic...

I don't think it's the same lake. Where Tobi and Konan fought was in the middle of almost nowhere, whereas if you look at where Jiraiya is, it's towards the city more-so.

If it is the same lake, probably different spots...

Look at the bottom right corner and you'll see where they are.

Here is another clear picture.

I believe that the top picture is just to let us know that this is in Amegakure, considering the page before it showed the Island Turtle they wouldn't want us readers to be confused.

Here is where Jiraiya died.

Doesn't look as though it's the same location.

So if we are talking about Edo Tensei, then I don't think it's possible at the moment unless Orochimaru finds a way to get Jiraiya's body.

I'm sure it's possible, but Kabuto didn't find a way to do it.
