Just a brief tobi/kakashi observation...

Consider these two pages, by themselves. Consider nothing else that we know about Tobi, for the moment.

I think its clear from page 12 that at this point, Kakashi knows who Tobi is... and it is the mention of Kanabi bridge that sets him off. I think that Kakashi could not piece together who tobi was from so long ago and with such piecemeal evidence, unless he had a personal relationship with the person who became Tobi.

For the sake of argument, lets accept for now that it is someone kakashi knew.

We also know that Tobi obtained Obito's other eye, (therefore it was not crushed). Suggesting either he never lost it (i.e. he is Obito) or he knew where Obito was buried (Rin, the rock ninjas, maybe the 4th). Or he had a way of locating it after the fact (perhaps a byakugan user?).

We know its not the 4th. It's not the rock ninjas; why would Kakashi know them well enough to deduce Tobi's identity? By the same token, its not a byakugan user, or some other yahoo who has a way of tracking down Obito's eye. That only leaves Rin and Obito.

I guess it could be Rin. She was pretty flat chested, so she could pass for a dude... don't know how she is changing the voice though... But the obvious answer is Obito.

1. Why did you rule out sensory type ninja/byakugan users?
2. It could have been a rock ninja, as people from different lands tend to know a couple people from other villages personally. For example, Zabuza and Kakashi knew each other.
3. Rin was flat chested because she was 12. As an adult she wouldn't be.
4. You can't rule out everyone except 2 characters, because there are so many nonexistent people we haven't met yet.
5. It's NOT Obito.

yes he has obito's eye....but he also has 1000 of them. whose to say obito's eye wasnt used when he did izanagi.

tobi can still be anyone. just because kishi couldnt think of a better way for tobi to get a sharingan other than plotnojutsu doesnt mean it has to be someone in kakashi's team.

for all we know he could be an expirement using obito's eye to mind-kcuf kakashi

Because Kakashi wouldn't know them well enough. What he knows about Tobi is relatively fragmented (or else he would have put it to use already, at his leisure). For him to pull an identity out of that knowledge in an instant, with only one important piece of data added, implies that he connected it to another body of knowledge that he already had i.e. this piece of information connects his knowledge of Tobi to his knowledge of the people at Kanabi.

strike non-existant. we can't meet people that don't exist.

But to address your point, yes, what you say is technically true, but most detective stories introduce us to a host of characters, one of whom is the killer; as example, anything by Agatha Christie, who basically shaped the genre, which has turned out popular. If Kishi doesn't follow this formula, I think a lot of people will feel like, they never even had a chance to figure it out themselves. So kishi won't do this.

And you assert this becase he was crushed to death? It is obvious that his EYE wasn't crushed to death... its possible his injuries were not as bad as they seemed. It certainly would require the application of Plot no Jutsu for him ot have survived, but Kishi does that all the time. As to WHY he would want to become Tobi, I will not speculate.

Regarding Tobi's voice, remember he used a girl-childish voice during the first seasons, maybe he was a girl (Rin), so is not that crazy to think he is now using a false male voice

i still stand by my theory:

Tobi is Izuna.

Izuna is the ONLY one who was equal to Madara.
Izuna lost his eyes/gave his eyes to Madara BUT Tobi transplanted dead Itachi's eyes into Sasuke and dead Nagato's eyes into himself. Whats to say he couldn't have faked his death and a transplanted a dead Uchiha's eye. Besides Tobi/fake Madara is telling the story of Izuna, whos to say he isn't lying about Izunas death?
Izuna is one of the ONLY logical choices left. Izuna is the ONLY person who could have any kind of knowledge regarding any of the past, he is the ONLY one who can stand a chance against the 4th Hokage, he is the ONLY one who would know about the secrets behind the Uchihas and the Rinnegan. He is the ONLY one who has or had the ability to control the 9 tails when he fought against the 4th Hokage. (Remember Izuna is the ONLY one who is equal to Madara)

The ONLY question for the theory is HOW is he able to still be alive. He could have found a way to transfer himself to another body (aka what Orochimaru did) and how often does he need to do this. Back when he fought the 4th Hokage he looked different/was hooded. When he met Itachi he had long hair. Now he has short hair.

I think these are different bodies that he is using. When he fought the 4th and met Itachi, who knows what bodies he was in but now I think he is using Obitos body and using Zetsu's parts to complete the crushed half with the 1st Hokages DNA. How else would he be able to use Izanagi? He needs to have Uchiha and Senju DNA. We know the White Zetsu clones have the 1st Hokages DNA because they captured Yamato and have what looks like a clone of the first (cloned through his DNA). Now Tobi/what I think is Obitos body, is already an Uchiha and mixed with the Zetsu clone/1st Hokage DNA = Izanagi.

Tobi and Orochimaru might have worked together before and Orochimaru may have learned how to body switch from Tobi.

Uhhh??? Highly doubt that, the fact that they share the same dimension and we all know each sharingan has different abilities. I'm pretty sure the eye he used was the expendable one. I also belive that the reason he had his mask that way was because obitos eye didn't drain as much chakra.
