Junior Year Problems

My junior year of high school hasn't even started and my teachers are emailing me about all the "wonders" of how this year will be different, like I had no idea before. Anyways, I just wanted some tips from you all who probably have gone through this already.

1.) I begin AP US History. I've begun practice for a little and I know it'll be hard, I took AP World History my sophomore year. Any tips you all have on this class, I'm not asking for cheat sheets, just general topics I can look up on and try to get some vocab terms and stuff like that.

2.) I take Pre- AP Calc. I'm not trying to overwhelm myself this year, but I've always wanted to take Calculus. I know it's a hard class but it seems so fascinating, probably because I've only taken Algebra I. Any tips?

3.) This is more personal. I basically had a 4-person group of friends and they all kinda managed to stay back in Sophomore year, and therefore transferred to another school to avoid it. I'm not that much of a talker, I've had the same group of friends since 8th grade and they kinda ditched me too. Any tips?​

I go back on the 21st. I'm trying not to think about school, but my teachers keep calling my dad and emailing me with reminders and no matter how many times I don't answer, they always leave a voice-message.

I had junior year problems too. Almost the exact same as yours. But eventually I found some people to "hang out" with. I wouldn't really call them friends, now that I look back at it....

I had junior year problems too. Almost the exact same as yours. But eventually I found some people to "hang out" with. I wouldn't really call them friends, now that I look back at it....

Same thing I said when I found out. I know sophomore year was hard, but the requirement to stay back 3 failing classes on your final report card.

And I'm going to try the same thing by joining some sort of club, but there aren't many that interest me. If anything, I'll be sitting at the lunch table doing homework.

(I'm a guy) Funny thing is that I do want to be an actor, but I don't want to rely on it. I live near NY, so I know it'll be easy to find jobs, but it's getting them I can rely on. If I do make it, then all books shall burn lol

History was never a hard thing for me to grasp, and thus was easy for me in my junior year. If it's hard for you, just study. Even with hard history classes, your teachers won't expect you to remember everything. Just try your best and study.

For the math, if all you have taken is algebra 1 and you are going to take pre calculus, I would probably suggest against that. My high school wouldn't let us take pre-calculus without having taken algebra 2, geometry, and trigonometry first. If you are intent on doing this you will need to study very hard. pre-calc is not easy and if you will be taking an ap test for college credit, it will likely be an extremely hard test. Study a lot. If you are having ANY problems, go see your teacher and get help. Do not be embarassed to get help from your teacher, same goes for history if you end up having problems with that.

I can't help with the third one, I'm not a very talkative person myself and have trouble making friends.

Well actually I take that back what I just said before. I forgot that americans have to get "good" grades consistently in all 4 years of highschool. In Canada, we just gotta get good grades during our senior year. So nvm about that. Yes, my sig. is from HxH 2011 anime.

Thanks. I've taken Geometry and Alge 1, but I forgot to mention that Algbera II is mixed with Pre-Calc so I guess there is some middle group. But thanks, I have very bad study habits, I was lucky that I only didn't understand Chem sophomore year. I will start studying this year, I have no intentions of rejoining my friends.
