I recently thought about a 'what if'. It was 'What if someone were able to look at my whole life, how I've lived it, how I live it now. That is, with no limits as to what can be seen i.e. I have no privacy in front of these eyes.'
This is what I thought, and I found myself relieved that it isn't so(I hope, I mean, I can't really prove it wrong, as it is with gods and other supernatural phenomena. My take on this would be "If I don't see it with my own eyes, I won't believe it, just consider it", sort of.).
Now, what I got interested in was not the idea of it, instead, what caught my interest was two things, not directly associated, but thoughts I had as a result of this 'what if':
1. Between the judger and the judged; what kind of relationship is there in the sense of 'how come this one judges the other?'. Is it because it is more convenient and less scary to look at another instead of at yourself?
2. And then, if(as related to everyday life, let's use NB as an example) one member were to judge another; who is he/she to judge the other? Is not this member lazy and 'selfish'(I'm using this term loosely here, since some sort of self-preservation is necessary, such as satisfying basic needs. I'm using it in the meaning of what selfishness comes beyond the one for the basic needs) as they are judging the other to be?
My reasoning here(2) is founded on my suspicion that someone who isn't lazy and selfish, probably wouldn't judge someone who is, lest he/she be some grumpy old man/woman or had quite the high thoughts of him-/herself(arrogant in other words). I suspect that the ones who judge are the ones who's lives would probably have lots of ground for judgement themselves. This is just an observation though, which means it isn't likely to be applicable to everyone.
Lastly another query, multiple actually, took form in my mind: We may judge one another, but is our own lives so shameful and embarrassing that we cover from the learning about them(how we live our live and how we are etc.), and in the stead of doing so, take it out on other by judging them??
edit(almost forgot): Also, I draw the conclusion that change is being hindered by all this, if it is indeed how things are.
The questions are many, but I want to know because it caught my interest.
Please let's discuss this, your thoughts on this are most welcome!
Edit: a reminder: This is the general discussions section, I'd rather you follow the rules, and if you don't know them, read them before posting. And please, no "this^" 's or something similar, I expect you to at least be able to write one full sentece that voices your opinion/thought on whatever you quote. The 'rep+' or similar quotes are also quite annoying, so please. Thank you.
